I succumbed to my love for architecture and Philadelphia's historic built environment after a career in public and non-profit management. I bring the same mission-centered focus to my real estate clients, and I love helping people realize their domestic and investment goals.

What's your favorite client story?

I loved helping my client, who was a career high school teacher and single mother, invest in a multi-family townhouse next door in Mt. Airy. The sellers, also my clients, accepted her offer over a higher competing offer because they loved her story too. At its best, real estate is not just transactions. It's people and communities.

You have a day off in Philly. What do you do?

If I'm not taking our kids to the Franklin Institute or the Museum of Art, I'm picking through estate sales and auctions around town. No better place in the country than Philadelphia to hunt for antiques and other treasures. I also help my clients who are downsizing assess and dispose of their personal property as efficiently and profitably as possible!

What's the architectural detail your eye always gravitates towards?

So many choices, from hidden balconies and leaded glass windows in grand Victorians to majestic glass walls in mid-century modern homes, especially in the fall. But I especially like fantastic mill work, like a carved oak canopy over a fireplace mantle in Mt. Airy or a curved banister in a townhouse in Point Breeze.

Favorite community organization.

Philadelphia Community Corps is a triple threat! It's a Philly non-profit that trains inner city youth in construction, demolition and architectural salvage, lets developers deduct significant portions of the costs of their historic renovations and helps preserve our city's glorious architectural heritage.

What differentiates you within real estate?

I assist clients through every aspect of the home buying and selling process, from identifying lenders, evaluating a property and disposing of personal items to downsize efficiently. I understand that every homebuyer is different. I take the time to understand the needs and expectations of each client and do everything I can to meet them.

One last thing...

I created the architecture beat for a business newspaper in a previous life. I'm bilingual (my mother is from Barcelona), and our kids and I have dual Spanish/U.S citizenship. I've lived in Washington D.C. and New York City and I love them both, but neither has the balance of big city perks, neighborhood intimacy, and affordability that Philadelphia has. It's a great place to call home!
