What's your favorite client story?
I've been investing in Philly and surrounding areas since 2010. I've held onto many of my properties because I've had great relationships with the families that rent from me. One of my tenants just had a baby this past summer and asked if she could give the baby girl my name as her middle name. I thought that was pretty cool. She always says "Alia, I can't wait to own my own home but I never want to leave yours". I will be here to help her when she does.
You have a day off in Philly. What do you do?
I love to live like a tourist. I grew up in Philly my whole life minus my time in Boston when I attended Berklee College of Music. I love to take an Uber somewhere with no real agenda and just get dropped off and try a new restaurant or go to a museum that just opened or pop up bar. I love this city and how many different sections and art scenes we have to offer.
What's the architectural detail your eye always gravitates towards?
Light. When a house feels open and bright it makes me happy. I'm a summer baby so I like to feel the sun come in.
Favorite community organization.
Currently the Pennsport Civic Association because I love my neighborhood, everything it has been and is growing towards. I love being a part of that.
What differentiates you within real estate?
I've been successful investing in real estate and it's allowed to pursue both my passions: real estate and music. Everyone always asks me about where I buy and how I invest. It feels good to be able to help guide people who I meet along the way.
