This week has not only ushered in the real month of Summer, but has also brought in Philadelphia’s first heatwave of the summer with temperatures set to approach 100 degrees! When the temperature gets this hot, I look for liquid relief. While sometimes this just a breezy beer garden like Independence Beer Garden or later this month The Oval other days it requires more kid friendly options. Yes, I’m talking about a POOL! And there are SO Many options when it comes to this type of relief here in Philadelphia. From community pools, splash parks in local playgrounds, to membership clubs for adults, or the ever-popular private pool at your own home!

This summer, the Philadelphia Parks and Recreation department has spruced up several new community pools through the Swim Philly program. This year Swim Philly has made over Pleasant Playground which is just around the corner from a great home that is fully restored and upgraded with the original art deco details. This is just one of the great homes you’ll find nearby here in Mt. Airy!

Looking to stay closer to your job in Center City? Northern Liberties, as you already know offers so many shops and restaurants, you really do not need to leave the neighborhood. But, did you know it also has an adults-only swimming pool?! Formerly North Shore Beach Club, it’s now called The Monarch and they recently announced a plan to allow you a single-day pass (rather than a seasonal membership of $700) for just a mere $50 with the same food and drink credit. And if you want a great home within walking distance, how about my open house for this Saturday and Sunday (12pm-2pm) 406 Wallace Street and yes, it comes with PARKING.

Okay, so you don’t want to compete with others for the best spot in the pool, I understand. Look at this 5 bed, 5 and 2-half bath Society Hill stunner! Yes, it has it’s own Plunge Pool on the rooftop! Can you ask for more? If more pictures are what you’re asking for, email me to set up a private showing!
