Every day we walk in and out of our home’s front door and don’t think much of it. However, if you think about it, that door is seen by thousands of people that walk or drive by. Why not pay a little more attention to it? The gateway to your castle — the door — should reflect who you are as an individual. You may be thinking, “It’s just a door what can I really do with it?”, but there is so much you can do to personalize it. If your door is a plain with little detail,  you can spice it up with a fresh bold color, a fun doorknocker or new numbers. If your door has unique details like etching or glass panels, a simple color revamp can make it stand out.

I recently took on my own front and side doors as a home improvement project. I was tired of seeing this plain wood-stained door that looked dated and did not reflect the energy that was inside the house. I visited my local hardware store to select just the right paint color and to buy all the supplies I needed to start my project off right. I made sure to give myself the whole weekend to focus on the task at hand, taking my time. In the end, I had a beautiful fresh looking door that drew many complements by passersby as I was putting on the new color. Having this beautiful new door inspired me to take it one step further and add planters with colorful plants and flowers.

Arriving home at the end of the workday now brings a smile to my face as the door greets me with its brilliant color. When guests come for a visit, they’ll know that they will be walking into a warm inviting space because the tone has been set from the moment they took a step up to the door.

Glad you got Matt to put curb appeal to your front door. It looks good in the pictures.
